Quick Tasks

ABBYY Business Card Reader offers so-called quick tasks, which automate the data capture process and enable you to capture contacts with one mouse click. The quick tasks can be accessed via the Quick Tasks panel, which is displayed when you start the application.

Quick scanning

  1. Place your business cards on the scanner.
  2. Click the Scan to Outlook button on the Quick Tasks panel.
  3. Select the desired scanning options and click Scan.
  4. Once the scanning is finished, the application will automatically capture the data and export the results to Microsoft Outlook.

Quick opening

  1. Click the Open in Outlook button on the Quick Tasks panel.
  2. Select the scans or photos of business cards that you wish to open.
  3. The application will automatically capture the data and export the results to Microsoft Outlook.

Note:

  1. The quick tasks do not allow you to edit the captured data. To edit a captured contact before exporting it, click the Scan or Open button on the Quick Tasks panel.
  2. While captured contacts are being exported to Microsoft Outlook, a progress bar is displayed, with a Stop button next to it. Clicking this button will stop the process.
