The General Tab in the Options Dialog

Option name

Option description

Interface language Selects the interface language. All the system reports, dialog captions, buttons and menu items will be displayed in the selected language. To change the interface language select the language you want from this list and click the OK button, then restart ABBYY FineReader. 
Show image during recognition This option is set by default. Clear it if you don't want the image to be displayed during recognition of several batch pages. 
Show tips during recognition This option is set by default. Use this option to have recognition tips displayed during recognition.
Open the last batch at startup Set this option if you want FineReader to open the last batch you worked with automatically at startup.
Adjust image to fit printable area while printing Set this option if you want an image to be adjusted to fit printable area while printing.
Show Welcome dialog at startup Set this option if you want FineReader to open the Welcome dialog at startup. You may start the Scan&Read Wizard, open the Practical Guide for OCR Enhancement or start working with FineReader in the regular mode from this dialog.
Enable ABBYY Community news channel (Available in FineReader Professional Edition only) Select this option if you want FineReader to open the News dialog at startup. This dialog displays tips on using the application, latest information about application versions and releases and so on.
Batch Template group
Save
(button)
Saves the options set for the current batch into a separate file. These options are set on the Scan/Open Image, Read, Formatting tabs and in the Formats Settings dialog. User patterns and languages created during working with the batch are saved too.
Load
(button)
Loads the previously saved batch options.
Use Defaults
(button)
Sets all options to default values. Keep in mind that user patterns and user languages are not set by default. If a batch you select this option for contains user patterns and/or languages, they will be deleted (FineReader will prompt you if you actually want to delete them).
