Tips on Brightness Tuning

The scanned image has to be legible. To check its legibility, view the image in the Zoom window.

If you see that the scanned image is far from perfect (characters are glued or torn), consult the table below to find out how you can improve image quality.

Possible remedy:

characters are "torn" or very light

Try lowering the brightness (this will make the image darker).
Try scanning it in gray mode (brightness autotuning then will be used).

characters are distorted, glued, or filled

Try increasing the brightness (this will make the image brighter).
Try scaning it in gray mode (brightness autotuning then will be used).
