Some Notes about the Multilingual Edition of ABBYY Lingvo

Translating words and phrases into all of the languages of the enabled dictionaries

By default, ABBYY Lingvo uses the dictionaries of the current translation direction to translate words and phrases in other applications.

To look for translations in all the enabled dictionaries of the selected group:

  1. Select Tools>Options... and click the General tab;
  2. Under When translating words in other applications, use: select All languages of all enabled dictionaries.

Full-text search in all enabled dictionaries

By default, ABBYY Lingvo uses the dictionaries of the current translation direction for full-text searches.

To search for a word in all the enabled dictionaries of the selected group:

  1. Type the word or phrase you wish to translate in the search field.
  2. Do one of the following:

Note: You can also use all the enabled dictionaries when translating words in dictionary cards. Simply select the word or phrase you wish to translate, double-click it and select Find in All Languages from the pop-up menu.
