Cards

A dictionary card displays the translations of the search word or phrase and a wealth of additional information. A card will only open if Lingvo finds the corresponding entry in one of its enabled dictionaries.

Show me a card

The title of the card displays the word or phrase you typed in the search field and the translation direction.

The card toolbar displays buttons that allow you to change the appearance of the card and navigate between dictionaries.

The entry may include the following zones:

Headword;

Translation. This zone provides translations for the headword and its pronunciation.

Note: Transcription is only available for one-word headwords in LingvoUniversal (En-Ru). In other dictionaries transcription is only provided in exceptional cases when a word has an unusual pronunciation.

Examples. These are illustrative examples and typical word combinations with the headword.

Comments. This zone provides grammar and style labels, irregular word forms, synonyms, antonyms and comments to translations or illustrative examples.
