You no longer need to open the dictionary to see what a particular
word means. Simply rest your mouse on an unfamiliar word and a
translation appears in a pop-up window. You can still open the full
dictionary entry by following a link in the pop-up widow.
Wildcard Search for Word Which You Are not Sure How to
Spell
If you are not sure how to spell a word, you can use the new
wildcard search facility. Type in the letters you know and use the
"?" character for any one unknown letter or the "*" character for
any number of unknown letters.

PDA versions of ABBYY Lingvo 12 come in one package with the

Overhauled Interface and Search
In ABBYY Lingvo 12, search results are displayed in one window
as a list of dictionary entries where the search term has been
found. A navigation panel to the right makes switching among
dictionaries easier.
If your search term has not been found among the entry
headwords, ABBYY Lingvo 12 will automatically launch a full-text
search to look for the word in the entire text of its
dictionaries.
