Include a one-time item in a budget
Not everything
in a budget reoccurs on a regular basis. For example, you could
earn money babysitting every once in a while, but not consider it
regular income. A large piece of furniture might be a one-time
expense-once you buy a couch you probably don't need to buy one
every month. After you add a one-time item (either income or
expense), it shows up in your regular budget, but is called out on
a separate line with the date it occurred.
Note: To perform this task, you must be using
the Advanced Budget. To determine which budget you're using, look
for the Essential Budget, Advanced
Budget, or Savings and Spending Budget
label in the upper-right corner of the Budget summary page.
- Click Budget, and then click Budget
Summary.
- At the bottom of the Budget summary table,
click Add a One-Time Item.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
