Use the home inventory worksheet

If you ever have to file an insurance claim, a home inventory provides a basis for the compensation you request from your insurance company. The Home inventory page gives you a central place to list your assets and their value. Before you get started, gather any receipts or other information you have about the items you own and their worth.

To use the Home inventory page, you must first customize the My Money page to include the Home inventory area. To learn more, see the related topics below.

Go to the My Money page.
Click Go to my home inventory.
Do one of the following:
- To add an item to your inventory, click New, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
- To edit an existing item, double-click it.

If you have many similar items, you can enter them more quickly by creating a copy of the first item you enter and then editing its information as necessary. To do this, click the original item in the list, and then click Copy. When you finish editing the copy, click Update to add the new item to your inventory.
To make your inventory more complete, you can link digital pictures to your inventory. To do so, on the Inventory Details page, click Inventory Image.
