Play sound when new mail arrives The Bat! can notify you about the arrival of new mail with a sound. (As The Bat! uses WAV files, you need to have a sound card installed in your system to play these sound files).
Setting sounds at the Account level plays a sound whenever a new message arrives in any folder. Setting sounds at the Folder level makes it possible to define an additional sound for user-defined mail folders, so you can tell just by listening which folder has received new mail.
Sometimes, it may be necessary to disable the sound during a certain time period (for example, at home you wouldn't usually want to hear The Bat! reporting new mail in the middle of the night). Allow sound only within time interval is designed specifically to restrict the times during which the New Mail Notification sound reports new incoming e-mail. For example: 9:00-20:00.
Account Level
Note: The default time interval is from 00:00 to 24:00 or from midnight to midnight. This allows The Bat! to play sounds for incoming new mail 24 hours a day. To restrict the sounds to specific intervals, enter the beginning time to play sounds on the left and the ending time to play sounds on the right. Example: to restrict sounds to play only between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm, enter 09:00-20:00 (The Bat! uses a 24 hour clock based on your computer's internal clock).
