The following option specifies whether to send anonymous Player usage information to Microsoft. The anonymous information obtained from you and other program participants is used to improve the Player and related services.

software and services. If you join the program by selecting this
check box in Windows Media Player, you can help us improve the
Player and related services by sending anonymous Player usage
information to Microsoft. We will collect anonymous information
about your hardware configuration and how you use the software and
services to identify trends and usage patterns.
The information that you send us is completely anonymous. We will not collect your name, address, or any other personally identifiable information.
