On the View menu, point to Enhancements, and then
click Play Speed Settings.
In the Enhancements pane, move the Play Speed slider to
the speed at which you want to play the content, or click the
Slow, Normal, or Fast links.
Notes
Not all content can be played at variable
speeds.
To maintain audio and video fidelity when
playing content slower or faster than normal, select play speeds
between 0.5 and 2.0. This feature, known as time expansion and time
compression, is only supported for files with the extensions .wma, .wmv, .wm, .mp3, or .asf.
In addition, it may not be available when playing streaming or progressively downloaded
media.
To select speeds between the play speed marks,
clear the Snap slider to common speeds check box.
The timecode indicator is only active when
playing files in Windows Media Format that include Society of
Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) timecode
information. The timecode indicator displays the progress of the
file in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames (hh:mm:ss:ff).
