How To...Print Special Documents Using Short Edge Feed

Generally the Xerox system processes media using a long edge feed (LEF). This means that paper or other media is fed into the machine on the long edge of the page. In some circumstances, to enable an optimal stapling position or to print labels, it may be necessary to process media through the machine using the short edge feed  (SEF).

The Xerox system does not automatically rotate the page (from LEF to SEF). It will recognize that the job needs short-edge feed paper and hold the job until it is available in one of the input trays.
