Change the transparency of a fill or stroke

To change the transparency of a fill or stroke

  1. Select the object that for which you want to set the opacity.
  2. Under Brushes in the Properties panel, click the Fill or Stroke property in the list, and then adjust the Alpha value that is indicated by an 'A' field in any of the four color spaces: HLS, HSB, RGB, or CMYK. Note that this affects only those individual properties of an object and does not affect the opacity of the entire object, as the Opacity property does under Appearance.
