Insert an item into the active document

To insert an item into the active document in Microsoft® Expression Blend™, you must first add the item, or link the item, to the current project folder, by following the steps in the topic Add or remove an item from a project in this User Guide.

To insert an item into the active document

Do one of the following:

• Under Files in the Projects panel, right-click an item such as an audio clip or an image, and then click Insert. Typically, the item is inserted into the top-left corner of the document.
• To add an item as a child element within another element in a document, such as a layout panel, double-click the parent element under Objects and Timeline in the Interaction panel to make it the active element, and then insert the item.
