Newspaper Page

Situation description:  poor recognition quality caused by the paper of the publication (yellow, small fibers, etc.) or incorrectly drawn blocks.

To improve the recognition quality of newspaper pages, we recommend scanning them in grayscale mode - the program will determine the required level of brightness automatically. In grayscale mode, more information about characters is retained, which makes for better recognition of medium and poor quality documents.

Newspaper pages usually contain multicolumn text with pictures. Sometimes sections of the text may be printed over a picture, which may cause the program to draw blocks incorrectly. For more information on how to adjust incorrectly drawn blocks, please see Complex Magazine Page.
