The LingvoCompact dictionaries are abridged versions of the corresponding LingvoUniversal dictionaries. The include only the most common translations and do not provide usage examples, synonyms or antonyms.
To make the dictionaries more compact, some of the formatting elements can be removed. Please note that if the formatting elements are removed, the following applies:
- the labels are treated as simple text and the full text of the labels cannot be displayed;
- some cards will contain words in the source language embedded in commentaries which are written in the target language. Lingvo will interpret their language incorrectly, which will cause incorrect translations via the local menu. In the LingvoCompact dictionaries, there are no language tags in the entries because there is no optional text in the cards for which these tags are important.
