In ABBYY Lingvo 9.0, the head words of 15,000 entries in
LingvoEssential (En-Ru) and the head words of 10,000 entries of
Essential (De-Ru) include the button.
Click this button to hear these words pronounced by native English
and German speakers.
To hear a word pronounced:
Open the word's card from LingvoEssential (En-Ru) or Essential (De-Ru) and
click .
Note:
You need a sound card and loudspeakers or headphones to hear a
word pronounced.
You will not be able to hear the pronunciation if you chose not
to install LingvoEssential (En-Ru), Essential (De-Ru) or
unchecked the Sound option when installing ABBYY Lingvo
9.0.
To install the sound:
In Start>Settings>Control Panel select
Add/Remove Programs. The Add/Remove Programs dialog
box will be displayed.
Select ABBYY Lingvo 9.0 Popular and click Change.
The ABBYY Lingvo 9.0 Popular Dictionary InstallShield Wizard
will open.
Click Change and then click Next>. The Custom
Installation dialog box will be displayed.
In the Custom Installation dialog box, select
LingvoEssential (En-Ru) to install the sound file for English words
or Essential (De-Ru) to install the sound file for German words.
Check the Sound option for the corresponding
dictionary.
