Change the way columns display in the Portfolio
Manager
You can control
the information you see in the Portfolio Manager by selecting and
customizing different views. A view is an
arrangement of columns containing supporting data about your
investments; each view is designed to help you evaluate a
particular investment aspect, such as performance. The Portfolio
Manager has several built-in views. You can create a custom view by
adding, removing, or rearranging columns in one of the built-in
views.
- Go to the Portfolio Manager.
- In the Select view list, click the view you
want to customize.
- In the Select view list, click
Customize current view.
- On the Portfolio Columns tab, do one or more
of the following:
- To add a column, in the Available Columns
list, click a column name, and then click
Add.
- To remove a column, in the Displayed Columns
list, click a column name, and then click
Remove.
- To change the order of the columns, in the Displayed
Columns list, click a column name, and then click
Move Up or Move Down.
- To save these settings using the current view name, click
Save. To save them under a new name, click
Save As, and then enter a name.
- Go to the Portfolio Manager.
- In the Select view list, click a view.
- Go to the Portfolio Manager.
- In the Select view list, click the name of the
view you want to edit.
- In the Select view list, click
Customize current view.
- Make your changes.
- To save these settings using the current view name, click
Save. To save them under a new name, click
Save As, and then enter a name.
- Go to the Portfolio Manager.
- In the Select view list, click
Customize any view.
- Click the view name, and then click Rename or
Delete.
Tips
- To adjust a column's width, drag the right edge of the column
heading to the desired width.
- To temporarily change the position of a column, drag the column
heading to a new location.
- To see a short description of a column's contents, pause your
mouse pointer on the column heading. To see a longer description,
in the Select view list, click Customize
any view, click Change, and then click
the Portfolio Columns tab. Click a column name to
see the description in the Column Description
box.
Tip
You can save a customized version of a built-in view. Click the
view name, and then click Create New. Choose
options on the tabs in the Custom View dialog box,
click Save, and then type a name for the custom
view.
Tips
- If you don't see the columns that you want in an existing view,
you can create a custom view. For more information, click
Create a custom view above.
- To quickly switch between predefined views, select a view from
the View list at the top right of the Portfolio
Manager.

mouse pointer on the column heading.

Note
Use the other tabs in the Customize Portfolio
View dialog box to make additional changes to the way you
organize and display your investments in each view.
