Because the privacy and security of your financial information is important, Money provides several ways to help you protect your information.

Windows Live ID

Signing in to Money by using a Windows Live ID helps secure your Money file and enables you to do the following:

• Access your Money data from any computer that is connected to the Internet.
• Retrieve account information your financial institutions. If you do not use a Windows Live ID but want to retrieve information from an institution that requires one, you'll need to go to the institution's Web site and follow the instructions for downloading financial information into Money.
• Reset a forgotten password. If you forget your Windows Live ID password, it's easy to get help and reset the password, after answering a secret question that you create to identify yourself.

Standard Money password

If you choose not to use a Windows Live ID, you can still use a standard password to help protect your Money file. However, if you forget your standard password, you will lose access your Money data, and there won't be any way to recover it. For that reason, be sure to record your standard password in a safe place.

Experian password

If you use the Credit center in Money, you'll create an Experian user name and password to help protect your credit information.
