C00D0FAA: Cannot rip the files

Windows Media Player cannot rip (copy) the track from the CD because no compatible MP3 encoder is installed on your computer. Install a compatible MP3 encoder, or choose a different format for tracks ripped from CDs (such as Windows Media Audio).

To obtain an MP3 encoder (also known as an MP3 Creation Pack), see the MP3 Creation Packs and DVD Decoders for Windows XP Web page at the Microsoft Web site.

To select a format for tracks ripped from CDs

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Rip Music tab.
  2. In the Format box, click the format that you want.
