How To...Change Print Resolution

The resolution setting affects the amount of detail that is reproduced on graphic images. Graphics resolution is measured in dots per inch (dpi). Therefore, a 600 dpi setting renders images using 600 dots (pixels) per every inch of the image.

Some Xerox products also enable you to choose the number of gray levels. This setting defines how many shades of gray each pixel can support.

The printer drivers will not allow you to define high resolution print driver settings (such as 1800 x 1800 dpi) from the Windows Control Panel. You can select high resolution settings by opening the printer driver from your application.

To change print resolution:

  1. Choose the Image Options tab.

  2. Select the desired resolution from the available options.
