Full-Text Search

Full-text search looks for a word or phrase in the entire text of the cards of all the enabled dictionaries of the selected group.

You can use full-text search if none of the translations found by opening corresponding dictionary cards suits your context.

Note:

You can set up the multilingual edition of ABBYY Lingvo to carry out full-text searches in the enabled dictionaries.

Carrying out a full-text search

To look up a word or phrase in the entire text of the enabled dictionaries of the current group:

1.  In the search field, type in the word or phrase you wish to find.

Note: You can type words in any grammatical form.

2.    Do one of the following:

• Select the Find command from the Tools menu.
• Click  on the Toolbar.

3.     In the Search dialog box that opens, select the card which offers the most suitable translation for your word or phrase.
