Translation Direction

ABBYY Lingvo uses the dictionaries of the current translation direction to translate your queries. The translation direction is defined by a source language and a target language. The source and target languages are displayed on the Languages bar.

 

To change the translation direction:

  1. Select the required source language from the left drop-down list on the Languages bar.
  2. Select the required target language from the right drop-down list on the Languages bar.

 

To reverse the translation direction, click the button located between the source and target languages.

Note: In the multilingual edition of Lingvo, you can look for translations in all the enabled dictionaries of the selected group.
