Track an investment traded in a foreign
currency
If you own an
investment that is traded on a foreign exchange, your investment
gains and losses may be tracked in a foreign currency. Money can
help you make the currency conversion so you can see how your
foreign holdings are doing in U.S. dollars.
- Go to the Portfolio Manager.
- In the left pane under Common tasks, click
Work with investments, and then click Set
up a new investment.
- On the Choose an account for this investment
page, select or enter the account where you hold the
investment.
- Under Add an investment, select or type the
investment name, and then click Next.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Notes
- By default, the Portfolio Manager will display the investment's
price, market value, and other measures in the foreign currency.
Money will convert those values to your portfolio's default
currency in order to calculate total values for your
portfolio.
- You can change the default currency for your portfolio or
change whether market value and other calculations are shown in the
foreign currency or the default currency. In the Portfolio Manager,
under Other tasks, click Change portfolio
settings. Click the Display tab, and then
make your choices.
- To change the default currency for an account, in the Portfolio
Manager, right-click the account name, and then click See
Account Settings. On the Change account
settings page, select the new currency in the
Account currency list.
