When you
download transactions, Money standardizes the transaction payee
names before searching for payee name matches. Standardizing
removes all numbers and punctuation, which increases the odds of
finding a match. For example,
Grocery Store 123 is
standardized to
Grocery Store, and
AB
& C becomes
AB C.
If Money does not find a payee name match after standardizing
the downloaded payee name, you can choose whether to see the
standardized name or the original downloaded name in your account
register.
