Throughout this help both programs are referred to as "The Bat!", a differentiation will be made only where necessary.

For the Quick Guide chapter the main window of The Bat! is assumed to be open as it is the starting point for all procedures outlined.

All procedures are explained through the menu steps needed to achieve a goal. Some keyboard shortcuts are pre-defined but can be customised;

you can also assign your own shortcuts. In many cases you can use tool bar buttons, i.e. to open a new message, or send and receive e-mail.
