Quality

Convert files option Description
Convert files as required by this device (recommended) Select to allow copies of the files to be converted to a quality level and/or format that is optimized for playback on your portable device. If required by your device, the Player will create copies of the files with updated bit rate settings (for music, video, and TV) and display resolution and frame rate settings (for video and TV) that your device supports.

If required by your device, the Player will also convert the copies of the files to Windows Media Audio (WMA) format (for music) or Windows Media Video (WMV) format (for video and TV).

  • If this option is not selected, the files in the selected categories and playlists are synchronized to your device without modification. Your device may not be able to play back these files or may behave unexpectedly if you synchronize files that exceed the device's capabilities. We recommend that you always select this option unless you encounter problems with file conversion.

Music quality level option Description
Select quality level automatically (recommended) Specify that the Player automatically set the quality level of music files that are synchronized to your portable device.
Select quality level Specify that you set the quality level (bit rate) of music files that are synchronized to your portable device.

Video/TV quality level option Description
Select quality level automatically (recommended) Specify that the Player automatically set the quality level (bit rate) of video and TV files that are synchronized to your portable device.
Select quality level Specify that you set the quality level (bit rate) of video and TV files that are synchronized to your portable device.
