Adding items to your library

Before you can begin creating playlists or auto playlists, burning CDs, or synchronizing files to portable devices, you must add links to the files in the Library feature. You can add links to music, video, and other digital media content in your library by doing any of the following:

• Searching your computer for digital media files
• Ripping tracks from CDs
• Adding individual files from playlists or folders
• Adding files that are in folders you have set the Player to monitor
• Playing files on your computer, the Internet, or removable media
• Dragging or copying files from My Computer or the desktop
• Purchasing music on the Internet

Adding files to your library by searching your computer or network is the most convenient way to initially populate your library if you already have digital media content. Copying your CDs to your computer and adding content from the Web are also good ways to add content.
