If the transaction is flagged for follow up, you will see the follow-up flag instead of the linked file icon. To confirm that the link to your file is working:

• Hold your pointer over the flag. You should see text that says Right-click to open linked file.
• Right-click the flag. The shortcut menu will include options to open the linked file and remove the link to the file.

Money does not copy or move a file when you link the file to a transaction. To find the file, use the file search tool for your operating system. If you cannot open the file from the link in Money, the file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted.

To simplify managing your linked files, create a separate folder (My Money Linked Files, for example) on your hard disk in the same folder that your Money file is saved in. When you want to create a link to a file, copy the file to that folder, and then create the link. When you back up your file, you can also copy this folder to easily back up your linked files.

If Money doesn't recognize the file extension for the file you are trying to link to a transaction, Money will warn you and ask you to confirm that you know the file is safe. Before you link to or open the file, you should be sure that the file will not cause any problems on your computer.
