Steps of custom automated tasks

Custom automated tasks offer a wider range of steps compared to quick tasks. The order of steps in your custom automated tasks should correspond to the document processing stages in ABBYY FineReader. Steps such as image acquisition, recognition and saving are mandatory, while other steps such as result checking and page layout analysis are optional.

When creating a new custom automated task, select one of the available actions for each step:

  1. Getting an image

This is always the first step in an automated task. At this step, ABBYY FineReader retrieves the images to be processed.

  2. Page layout analysis

This step is optional. Page layout analysis is used to customize area templates.

  5. Saving recognition results

At this step, ABBYY FineReader saves the text to a file or sends it to the selected application. An automated task may include several saving steps.

  6. Adding advanced steps to an automated task allows you to send the recognized text to another application, attach the retrieved image or the recognized text to an e-mail message, or save the ABBYY FineReader document.
