Tutor Dictionaries

Creating a Tutor dictionary

To create a Tutor dictionary:

  1. In the dictionary window, select Tools>Dictionaries...
  2. In the Dictionaries dialog box that opens, provide a path to the folder where your new dictionary will be stored.
  3. Click the Create... button.
  4. In the New Dictionary dialog box that opens, provide a name for your new dictionary, select the source and target languages, and click OK.
The newly created dictionary will be added to the list in the Dictionaries dialog box. Add words to the new dictionary an start an exercise.

Adding Tutor dictionaries

To add a Tutor dictionary:

  1. In the dictionary window, select Tools>Dictionaries...
  2. In the Dictionaries dialog box that opens, click the Add... button.
  3. In the Add Dictionaries dialog box that opens, select the desired dictionary and click Open.

Important! You can only add dictionaries whose languages are supported by ABBYY Lingvo.

The added dictionary will be displayed in the Dictionaries dialog box.

Note: To delete a dictionary, select it in the Dictionaries dialog box and click the Remove Dictionary button.

Selecting a Tutor Dictionary

You can select any of the added Tutor dictionaries for an exercise.

To select a Tutor dictionary:

  1. In the dictionary window, select Tools>Dictionaries...
  2. In the Dictionaries dialog box that opens, select the desired dictionary in the list and click the Select button.

The title bar of the dictionary window will display the name of the selected dictionary and its pair of languages.
