If you forget your standard Money password (not a
Windows Live ID password), and your Money file is already open, you
must type your old password, and then add a new one in the Password
Manager.
However, if you forget your standard password and your Money
file is not already open, there is no way to reset the password and
recover your Money file. If this happens, you'll need to create a
new Money file and begin again.
- On the File menu, click Password
Manager.
- Click I want to change or remove my Money
password, and then click Next.
- To remove your existing password, type your old password, click
Remove.
- Confirm that you want to remove your Money password, and then
click Next.
- Click Done.
- On the File menu, click Password
Manager.
- Choose whether you want a Windows Live ID or a standard Money
password, and then follow the instructions on the screen to add
your new password information.
Important
If you sign in to Money with a standard password (not a Windows
Live ID) be sure to write it down and store it in a safe place.
